Improve Tao Calligraphy Writing - part I | Tao Hands

There are many aspects of writing Tao Calligraphy that we can cover in this series. Before we look at any specific blockages we will begin with some fundamental wisdom delivered by Master Cecilia Liu, Master Sha's first appointed Traveling Tao Calligraphy Teacher.

Chinese calligraphy has been very significant to the culture of China and was considered the premier form of art quite some time before painting was. Master Cecilia once shared the wisdom of three famous Chinese calligraphers in history who would travel around the country to select their students according to three main criteria: 1) morality, 2) intelligence and 3) the feeling or connection with the art form. These criteria demonstrate the nature and quality of the type of person they sought to teach Chinese calligraphy as a revered art form and great discipline. It also demonstrates what is required to write well.

In Master Sha's teaching today there is a similar theme, in that the ability to write Tao Calligraphy well involves 1 ) purity, or the embodiment the Ten Greatest Tao Qualities (which we covered in the ten previous blog entries), 2) soul, heart, mind and body intelligence and 3) fully connecting with Tao to flow the Tao Calligraphy.

So the essence and wisdom of the historical criteria and the current teachings of Master Sha all involve purity and intelligence, or expansion of the soul, heart, mind and body. One of the most powerful ways to practice purity and expansion is by tracing, writing or chanting the Ten Greatest Tao Qualities!

Therefore, our first blog practice for improving our Tao Calligraphy writing will be to call on all of the Ten Greatest Tao Qualities and Divine Healing Hands in one practice, to help us maintain our alignment and embodiment of these qualities, now and as we move forward. At any time, you may practice one or all of these qualities to improve your alignment with Tao Calligraphy.

Body Power. Sit straight with your feet flat on the floor, back away from the chair if you can. Place one palm on the ming men acupuncture point, directly across from the navel on the backside, and one hand on your lower abdomen.

Mind Power. Visualize brilliant light in the ming men area and throughout your lower abdomen, torso and body.

Soul Power - Say Hello.

Dear Divine, Tao and all layers of Heaven,
Dear the Ten Greatest Tao Qualities of Greatest Love, Greatest Forgiveness, Greatest Compassion, Greatest Light, Greatest Humility, Greatest Harmony, Greatest Flourishing, Greatest Gratitude, Greatest Service and Greatest Enlightenment,
Dear my Tao Hands,
I love you, honor you and appreciate you.
As I chant the Ten Greatest Tao Qualities, would you help me maintain my connection and embodiment of these qualities so I can release blockages to my purity and intelligence of soul, heart, mind and body.
I'm so grateful.
Thank you.

Sound Power. Chant silently or aloud:

Greatest Love, Greatest Love, Greatest Love, Greatest Love.
Greatest Forgiveness, Greatest Forgiveness, Greatest Forgiveness. Greatest Forgiveness.
Greatest Compassion, Greatest Compassion, Greatest Compassion, Greatest Compassion.
Greatest Light, Greatest Light, Greatest Light, Greatest Light.
Greatest Humility, Greatest Humility, Greatest Humility, Greatest Humility.
Greatest Harmony, Greatest Harmony, Greatest Harmony, Greatest Harmony.
Greatest Flourishing, Greatest Flourishing, Greatest Flourishing, Greatest Flourishing.
Greatest Gratitude, Greatest Gratitude, Greatest Gratitude, Greatest Gratitude.
Greatest Service, Greatest Service, Greatest Service, Greatest Service.
Greatest Enlightenment, Greatest Enlightenment, Greatest Enlightenment, Greatest Enlightenment.

Repeat and chant for as long as you wish! When finished, close with Hao. Hao. Hao (perfect, get well). Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

We are so grateful to continue our Tao Calligraphy journey together, to strengthen our purity and intelligence and Tao Calligraphy writing further. Next time we will discuss how to find your inner Tao Calligrapher!

With greatest love,

Your Tao Hands Team.
